Health & Safety Policy

Your safety and well-being are what we care about most.

In response to COVID-19, we have since adapted our policies and procedures to follow recommendations set by our public health officials and the local government.

Here's what you need to know:

Contactless Check-in Process

  • Guests are subject to a no-contact temperature screening upon arrival.  Guests with a temperature of 100.4°F (or 38°C) and higher will not be accommodated.

  • We’re limiting the use of cash as much as possible and primarily accepting contactless card transactions.

Safety and Social Distancing

  • Facial coverings are mandatory within the common areas (reception, kitchen and living spaces, hallways, etc.).  We'll have some available if you forget yours.

  • All guests and staff are required to practice social distancing (maintaining a minimum of 6 ft/2 m of distance).

  • Hand sanitizers are available for use throughout the premises: one at the entrance, one at reception, and one in the common area.

  • Our complimentary breakfast is available again, and guests are welcome to enjoy it along with our newly renovated kitchen equipped with a microwave and toaster.

  • We have had to put a pause on our hostel activities and guided tours, but you may ask any of our staff to share personal recommendations and they will be happy to guide you in the right direction.

Enhanced Cleaning and Sanitation Protocols

  • While we have always been hyper-vigilant on our standards of cleanliness, we are implementing enhanced cleaning and sanitation protocols and following the best practices as advised by the CDC.

  • We’ve increased the frequency of our daily cleaning operations across all communal areas, with special attention to "high-touch" points like door handles, handrails, locks, faucets, counter surfaces, etc.

Our Rooms

  • We are slowly increasing the number of reservations as vaccinations roll out and the number of COVID-19 cases go down.  Our shared rooms are now back to 100% occupancy.

  • Our private rooms will only accept guests from families or groups traveling together.

Our Staff

  • We’ve implemented employee temperature checks at the start of each shift.

  • All of our staff will wear protective masks and gloves on hostel premises at all times.

  • Our staff have been trained on standards, procedures and best practices for cleanliness and health and are continuously updated and informed on COVID-19 protocols.

Cancellation Policy Update

  • We know that travel under the current circumstances is especially uncertain.  If you need to make any changes with your reservation, just reach out to us and we will do our best to accommodate you.  We have updated our cancellation policy so that guests may now cancel without penalty up to check-in time (3 pm PST) on the date of arrival.

We appreciate your support, kind understanding and cooperation during this time.  We're updating these policies as things change to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests, staff and community.

We hope you are healthy and safe, wherever you are.  Take care of yourself and each other.
